Merry Go Round Celebration!

Yesterday was our Carousel Festival here in Shelby. The boys and I met up with Fifi, Kim and Logan at the Middle school and took a shuttle bus down to City Park. Admission was $5.00 for all ages, but the rides and the games were free. There were bouncy rides, and obstacle courses, a giant slide, and some fast spinny rides. Even some pony rides! We stayed about 2 hours, rode some rides, played some games and ate some lunch.

Games!

We stopped to cool down and get a bite to eat - Chick - fil - a, sausage or hot dogs, with some great fries, Coke, orangeade or slushies!

...........and then it was time to go home!

Berry Nice!

It's that time of year again, and the strawberry farm at the end of our circle is open and filled with berries. Max and I picked up a bucket to take to Booties. Here's the Max eye view of the bucket he picked out - pretty good choice!

Kid in a Cupcake Shop

The other day my friend Sally asked me if we do any baking. As most of you know, Max is my baker. So, I told Sally about Max, and she sent him a box from her work. You would have thought he struck gold. Even without him looking at the camera, you can tell just how happy this little boy is. Thanks Sally!!!

Congrats Jason!!!

My Shift Lead Jason, had his big pinning ceremony on Thursday night at CCC. I am so proud of him - he works at the store around 22 hours a week, does classroom work, clinical work, and works at the hostpital! So when he wrapped up the Radiology program this week, I all to happy to be a part of the crowd to cheer him on. Congrats Jason!!! (honestly, would let this guy help you out at the hospital?)

I Stole This

The best place for prom pics in myspace. Jake and I spent Sunday night jumping from space to space to check out all the different prom pics. It's like having disposable cameras on the table at a wedding. Anyway, I came across this one on Brittany's (girl in the prom pic - pink dress)and stole it. It's from B and P's house and shows Jake with his lovely foot attire.

My World

Most of the time, I'm either at work or home. If I'm not at either place it's a trip to Bootie and Poppa's, church or Walmart. This is what I see. (over the next few weeks, before summer gets into full swing - the boys and I will take random pics of places the car stops) When I park my car and I get the "first" spot, I see the addition Tim is building - it will be a 3 season room (or the way it's been going - a 4 season room!)It used to be our carport, but we wanted something nice to come into after getting out of the pool.
Notice the reflection of my "nose" in the windows.

Fundo!

Fifi did a wonderful dinner for our prom goers. It was the Melting Pot at home. She started with a cheese fondue with tortilla chips, various breads and apples. Then she had a broth fondue with garlic, shallots and lemon, with shrimp, tuna, marinated steak, marinated chicken, pork, filet mignon, perogies and pot stickers. Wrapping it up with a chocolate fondue, marshmallows, and those covered in coconut, graham crackers, cheese cake, pound cake, stawberries, bananas and cherries. It was a hit with all. (Busy, I forgot to take pics of each course, so all you get is the aftermath!)

Prom 2008

Saturday night was Jake's Jr. prom and he and his friends got together beforehand at Bootie and Poppa's house. Here we have Brittany, Casey, Chelsi, Jacob, Sam and Jake.

Spring!

Ok, I've been away from my computer for over a week. What's up with that??? Max and I took these pictures of our flowers last week. They've just gotten prettier in a week, even with the cold weather.

Why?

So the other day we spent the morning with Fifi (Max and I), and at one point she told him that she didn't want to hear "no" and "why" out of his mouth. Now, I don't usually pay attention to the "why's" and I just answer him, but ........just now he came in and said "I just jumped off of Zach's bed and didn't get hurt". Of course I replied with a don't do that, and Zach and Max both chimed in with "why" and Zach added "he didn't get hurt". Ok, so I explained that this time he didn't break his arm, but perhaps next time he will. When is it a good time to jump from a top bunk anyway?

Max Needs a Snack???

I think he's growing again. For breakfast he had 4 mini waffles and 2 bananas and an apple juice box at B and P's. Then we met Daddy for lunch at Shelby Cafe, and Max had 3 silver dollar pancakes, a slice a bacon, a scrambled egg, and 6 crackers dipped in ranch dressing. It's now about an hour till I start cooking dinner, and we are having chicken scampi and white rice - which Max loves, but Max needs a snack. So while I was catching up on email, and stuff, Max brought me the things I needed to help him get his snack.

Wii..................

So, on Sunday, Jake wanted to go bowling, and I really didn't want to drive 1/2 hour to bowl. Yes, all the boys enjoy bowling, but it's not really cheap either (complain, complain). Anyway,Fifi said - come play the Wii. We headed over to Kev's with Doritos in hand, and we spent a good 3 hours - watching or playing the Wii. Let me tell you - I am not so good at the Wii, and ......I am extremely inflexible and out of shape. I couldn't get my arm all the way back, and the last two days I've had weird muscle aches in my upper body, it wasn't until I tried to demonstrate the arm swing, to one of my employees, did I realize that I worked those muscles in my chest playing a game!
