Jumper Gallery

This is now a reoccurring topic. Today I got this great shot of Max going off the diving board. I understand, yesterday Max and Logan finally took the plunge in the deep end. I found shots of what might have been someone trying to catch these little shots of lightening, but no go - so we'll keep trying for one of Logan off the board for our next Jumper Gallery.

Busy Busy Birthdays!

OK, so I took the day off (thanks Mike!) so that the boys and I could hit three birthday parties. The first was for Jake's friend Jake's great grandmother Lillian, who is also a friend of our great grandmother Gert. Here they are socializing at the party - Happy 99th Birthday Lillian!!!

Party number two was at the Cleveland Country Club pool, for Zach's friend Alex. Both Zach and his friend Isaiah, had a good time and Max loved the cake!!

Our last party was for Isaiah at Chuck E. Cheese's. Jake was slow at work, so he was all about going with us to see the big mouse and enjoy the pizza.

The boys all had a great time - thank you too all of our hosts! (now I'm ready for bed - it was harder than workin!)

New Jammies!

Fifi brought over all the goodies from the sale at work - and in the pile was a new pair of jammies for Max. As always (lately) the picture has to be a little goofy in it's pose for our boy Max. Here he sits still with a water frisbee on his head.

Jumper Gallery

I love trying to get the perfect jump pictures, like the ones from the 10th. Today I got a good shot of Jake playing diving board "horse" - this was Anna's choice of tricks, and he pulled it off pretty good. The other picture is of Logan, which took me a zillion shots to get, because he's so darn fast. I really liked this one though, because he just uses all his power to fly!

Youth Pool Party

We had a good turnout for the pool party today. There were 6 members of our high school and college youth and friends, and 4 families with young kids, counting mine and Kevin's. We swam, we ate, we swam.

Comfy? - Part Two

Really - I walked in the door about 2 minutes ago and grabbed my camera. How does he sleep?

It's Getting There

The youth pool party is tomorrow, and although many of the youth walk through our front door at anytime, we invited families with young children as well. So, even though Brittany, Casey, Anna, JC and others have seen my house after a few days of tornados Zach and Max, others have not. My kitchen is actually still pretty nice.

Change is Good

We've been brown (like the shell of a nut) since we started this thing a year ago. I feel like a little bit of blue sky for while - what do you think?

Things I Miss.....

Fifi and I were just talking about tropical drinks the other day, and how Shelby, NC is really not the place to find a good Tiki Bar. Chen's has a small selection of goodies, but nothing like Hala-Kahiki in River Grove, IL. If you get a chance just check out their menu online. If you get a better chance - go visit that menu!!! Dress nice, only have like 2 drinks, and go with a friend because it's a good place to kick back and enjoy. Rosie, Michelle and I would hit it back in the day every now and then after work. Yum!

Sunday in Boone, NC

Sunday, Tim's boss Chris took us up to Boone for the day. We had a really nice family style dinner at the Daniel Boone Inn (www.danielbooneinn.com) and then we headed to town to Mast General Store (www.mastgeneralstore.com)which was a little like stepping back in time - especailly looking at all the candy! On the way home we hit town in Blowing Rock for some ice cream - I was still full from lunch but couldn't pass up the pistachio!

Water Day Part Two

In the afternoon the boys got in our pool after cleaning up a little. Then tonight, after the final VBS dinner and presentation of "God's Big Backyard", the kids headed outside for some water play.

Retro Monday

Since last week's retro Monday was all about Fifi, I didn't feel to bad posting this picture. Here we have Me, Mike, Kevin, Chelle, Vicki and Joel - not sure of the year, 1970 something - Dad is still working on this group of slides - he just sent me this picture as a "preview", can't wait to see the rest.

Happy Birthday Kim!

Kim's birthday and Girl's night out took us to The Melting Pot - fun and yum!

By Request

Kevin says I never publish the bad things - so here you go. Max got a hold of a can of spray paint and felt free to decorate their play area. Now, as you can see in the one pic, before Tim started framing things we allowed the teens to graffiti the wall - I guess Max thought he would add his own touches.........to the wall, the new wood, the table, the bin............

Happy 4th of July!

Shelby had their fireworks tonight in the parking lot of the mall. Usually I work, so this was my first time. It was also the first time Max ever saw fireworks up close. We had a good time (it was Zach, Max, Jake and Anna, Kevin and Kim, Logan, Sheryl, Christian, Nikki, and me)- but it was over quick and it took us longer to get our of the parking lot than it did to watch the works themselves.

Now Open!

You can image how happy 2 little boys were today - when we said -
"pool's ready!"

A Little Plug

Hey Guys! I just wanted to say that if you're thinking of renting a movie - please consider stopping in at your local Blockbuster. Where ever you live, you should find friendly, knowledgeable staff, that will be able to help you with all of your rental needs. Remember you don't get that from a Red Box or a mail in envelope. Pick up popcorn and soda and your evening is complete in one stop. We are growing our business everyday to meet the demands of an ever changing world - so check out the Blue Ray Discs we now carry as well. Have a great 4th - if you're travelling take some movies with you, if you're staying at home make it a Blockbuster night.
