Good Cake!

Max wanted to do nothing more today than bake a cake. So finally I gave in. He broke the eggs, and poured in the water and the oil. When all was said and done, I frosted it, and both boys decorated it with the some of the sparkly gel that Sally had sent Max. They had a lot of fun - and Max said the cake was awesome!

Bear Mountain Cafe

Customers of mine at Blockbuster just opened up a coffee shop by the boy's elementary school. We have been dieing to try it, so Max and I checked it out this morning. He had a bagel with butter and a red juice, and I had a scone and a black and white mocha coffee. Very good! I don't drink enough coffee to stop everyday, but it will be place we will frequent. (They also serve sandwiches, so one day I hope to try the fresh Mozzarella, sun dried tomato, and basil confetti panini - sounds delicious!)

Back to School

Zach and Jake went back to school on Monday. So far.............Zach seems to be happy. Jake is still deciding. Max doesn't start full day Pre-K till the 8th. The boys went and picked out back packs last week - Zach chose Darth Vader in a hot second. Max took much longer and had to examine every book bag before picking out the Batman one.

Retro Monday

Dad's burning slides to discs again - this is my Grandma Lacy (in the gold color shorts) her sister Flo, and Flo's husband Uncle Willy. It just looked like a good summer picnic picture. I also think Grandma is pretty close to my age now, in the picture shown here.

Breakfast In (Mom and Dad's) Bed

Max and I were the first ones to wake up this morning, so he came in by me and we laid on bed watching Spongebob. After a little while, I figured I should probably get up and do something constructive, but first Max and I decided pancakes would make for a good breakfast this morning. As a surprise, I brought it in to him on my bed. Just a little treat!

Feelin' Froggy

The other day Max went to grab a mask off the rack by the pool, and came running at me screaming. I thought he had gotten stung by a bee. I was wrong..........he was screaming "I touched a frog!" The little frog had somehow gotten himself on top of the mask, and when Max went to grab it he grab the little guy. The frog didn't want to move, he was content, so I helped him into the grass with a skimmer pole, and he eventually hopped away, and Max got his mask.

Frightening

So, at every attraction, a crazy camera person seems to take a shot of you and hand you a card. At the Aquarium I bought the picture because it made me laugh. At the game they let you order the picture online - which..........is not going to happen.
Check it out: www.braves.com/truefans select game - 8/13 CHI game 1, select gallery 1, check out image 111, and you will see why this photo will not be laying around my house.

AAARRRGGGHHH!

I have been trying to put up some pictures of day 4 in Atlanta, but I can't get my computer to read the card, so I will have to get Tim to let me use his laptop again, because he saved them all on there. In the mean time - we finally saw the Cubbies play. The little guys watched about 4 innings and then we headed back to the Cartoon Network play area. They totally dug the the all you can eat wristband. Especially Zach, because he could just go up and get what he wanted - "I think I'll take a burger home." He had to much fun. We did get back late on Wednesday, and hit IHOP to end the vacation. A good time for all - I would do Priceline and City Pass again.

Atlanta Day Three

We spent the morning at the Fernbank Museum. We saw dinos and rocks, and all stuff in between. Max slid down a slide like a penquin, and the boys might be featured on the Channel 2 news - while they filmed a little spot for a the Museum. Another winning feature on our vacation.

Around 5o'clock we walked over to Turner Field to see our Cubbies play. The weather man was calling for rain, but this is the whole reason for a vacation in Atlanta. Tim and Jake watched the Braves warm up, the little guys played in the Cartoon Network area, and we all munched some hot dogs, before the game got called. So tomorrow we will try again, they'll play at 1 o'clock just for us, and hopefully we will get to watch a bit of the game before heading home.

Atlanta Day Two

The boys enjoyed watching the fish and looking them up on the touch screen at the Atlanta Aquarium.

We toured the World of Coke, and even randomly sampled from 64 different sodas from around the world.

To cool off they ran through the fountains at Centenial Olympic Park.

Last stop for the day - Atlanta's Underground.

To tired to wander we ate dinner in our hotel.

Where's Jake Now?

Jake, his buddy Jake, and friend Dusty took a road trip without grown ups, to Virginia Beach for Mayhem Fest. (ahh, to be 18 again) From the text messages I have received they are having a good time - mosh pits, Hooters wings and beach - what could be bad???
