Dinner is Served

Every year Fifi cooks for the kids that are going to prom. The first year it was an intimate dinner for just Jake and Betsy, last year the theme was fondue for 3 couples. This year she had 3 couples and worked all of Jake's favorites into the menu. It turned out great, and it's always good that she makes just a bit more for her kitchen help! (wink, wink)

Dinner started with a seafood appetizer. Stuffed clams, shrimp, potstickers, Buffalo calamari, and mussels (the sauce - was to die for)

Course two - salad - make your own right from a salad bar, customized with Jake's favorites, olives, carrots, ham, ranch dressing and on...

The main course was a mixed grill, steak, chicken, shrimp, grilled veggies and a potato(all the fixings were there too - cheese, bacon, sour cream, chives)also available broccoli with cheese and cream corn

Last she wrapped it up with chocolate fondue and all the goodies to dip, who knew you could get caramel vanilla marshmallows!

Dinner was a huge success - every little bit that the kitchen help sampled was wonderful. (kinda sad it's the last year!)

The Whole Gang

Prom was Saturday night, so because I'm being so slack with the vacation pictures we'll move ahead a little and we come back to vaca pics if we need more material or what not. Anyway, this the picture we take every year, the people change, but it's always been Jake on the porch - this year it's Brittany, Casey, Sosha(sp?) and Patrick and Jake with Chelsi.

Mini-Golf World Tour

Although it was intention to play much more mini golf on vacation - the weather would not let us. We were only able to play 2 of the 3 courses at Old McDonald's Farm. Fifi was winner on the first challenge, and I can't remember who won big the next time, it was too stressful with Max flipping out. (but that's another story all together)

Sploosh!

The waterpark at the resort is amazing, and these pictures just don't do it justice. When you walk in there's a nice 0 foot pool for the toddlers, with sprinklers and low slides, then there's the pool seen here with the bucket that dumps on your head. The lazy river in behind us in the other picute. Then there are 2 whirlpools, one is indoor/outdoor, and there's a larger pool with a basketball net and like little whirlpools along the edges so parents can chill while watching their kids. Lastly there are water slides at the end, one is a body slide the other a tube slide. Zach preferred the second, but I didn't get any shots, I'll have to check with Kim on that to see if she got any that day. Fun, fun, fun!!!

Where Were You?

Last week were away in Gatlinburg. We stayed at the Westgate Resort. It's a time share place that was pretty nice. I think if you go into the archives (July 2007) you will see where we had originally taken a tour of this place, and Fifi was not interested in buying,(they won't talk to me since the big guy has to be present too) so she just signed up for a vacation. Anyway, the view was good from our room, and we had a nice time. I was just going to Photobucket a slide show, but I think I will add my favorite shots with some comments. There's a broad view of the pics (I think 35) on my Facebook, other than these two, I'll try not to duplicate for those of you who keep up with our antics on both sights.

Happy Easter!

I Accept the Challenge

I asked the boys last week if they wanted to go to sunrise service with me, and Zach was the only taker. Tuesday I came home from Council and informed Zach that I would be going at 5 am, to help set up the worship area outside. To which he replied "That's fine, I accept the challenge." He was a great help, holding doors and setting up chairs. (It's a proud Mommy moment!)

Egg Hunt on the Square!

Saturday was the Egg Hunt in the town square. We met up with Logan and Keely (I don't think I'm spelling that right)and collected a few eggs before heading up to Fifi's for lunch.

Jake's Girl

When he's home - the rest of us do not matter!

School Carnival

Thursday night was the Zach and Max's spring carnival at school. We got there about 5:30pm, and played some games, purchased our pumpkin, and got a lay of the land so to speak. When I went to do my shift at the Ring a Bat, Jake took his brothers to do some of the other activities - like smashing the pumpkin (prize slips were inside, we won a coffee mug) eating Dairy Queen, and throwing pies and Mr. Harper the music teacher. All in all it was a fun night, and Zach even came home with a new hair color!

Spring Pics

The boys had their spring pictures taken a few weeks ago. I think they turned out pretty good. They're a bit more casual than the fall pics, because the first pictures have to be for the yearbook. I think they'll look good on the new blue wall!

Another One Down?

In the grand scheme of things, the hall closet, which is right there when you walk in our front door, is being relocated to the back. Where it was once the boys closet. This is all so that Tim can one day rip out the foyer closet and pantry for a more open floor plan. Anyway, this is our hall, with just some minor touch ups to finish. Notice the new color. It's a cool color - like Mom likes. Zach, Max and I had the pleasure of picking out the orange and yellow's replacement. Zach wanted red, I wanted beige, tan, olive, neutral - in the end the blue color which matched the faded parts on Zach's jeans won out. Crazy girl did go with off white (it has a fancier name than that) for the trim - which may get dirty fast, but I like the contrast. I the boys room has the odd painted dark blue door.

You Lookin' At Me?

Max got new shoes last week, so Pepper got 2 new toys. I'm not sure how I feel about that (Tim gave 'em to her) - I'll let you know once she starts chewing on their good clothes.
